Changing Gears on Lathe

From Mindworks

The machine shop lathes have many gears, to allow for a wide range of speeds to support various operations and materials. These gears can be adjusted for a certain speed based on the diameter and the material of what you are working on.

Do not switch any levers while the spindle is in motion.
The chart of the speed of each material and diameter that you would use.

Sometime when you switch the handles of the gears, they get stuck so you have to move the chuck by hand to let it switch.
